Harold Mews / East Ascent, St Leonards-on-Sea
pottery studio , St Leonards
The Mudworks is a new ceramics studio that has opened in St Leonards. A serendipitous meeting between singer Chantelle Duncan and graphic designer Isabella Campi in December led to an instant connection over all things ceramic.
When they realised they had almost identical ideas for a new pottery studio, things snowballed rapidly.
They found an old garage unit in Harold Mews, took it on the spot and one month later the space has been transformed into a cosy creative studio with two wheels for throwing and two beautiful large work benches for hand building, sculpture and slip-casting.
Due to the lockdown, there can only be two people in the space at any one time but the clay enthusiasts plan to invite more makers to use the studio facilities when the restrictions have eased.
For more information on The Mudworks, you can email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call Chantelle on 07710771886.
We’ll be adding in descriptions of each of these St Leonards businesses as soon as we get out to take portraits of the owners.
