Fantômas is an exhibition of new works by artist Caroline Achaintre. Her visually striking, witty ceramic sculptures and hand-tufted wall hangings incorporate diverse references such as catwalk fashion, carnival, and death-metal iconography, as well as Primitivism and Expressionism – early twentieth-century Western art movements that borrowed heavily from non-Western and prehistoric imagery to find new ways of representing the modern world. Throughout Autumn 2017, Awosile engaged Thornwood Care Home staff and residents living with dementia in conversation and shared creative activities. The 2018 Competition will run from February 22nd to March 3rd. Tickets can be purchased in person at the White Rock Theatre, online here, or by telephoning the box office on 01424 462288. Stage 1 (Chosen Concerto with accompanist) takes place on Thursday 22nd, Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th February. There are 5 sessions per day, Tickets are £15 for a day ticket or £4 per session.
