Indie rock royalty DOVES perform live in Bexhill-On-Sea for the first time ever, as part of the ’Summer Nights by the Sea’ series at the stunning De-La-Warr Pavilion Gardens!

Inspiration is seldom elusive and motivation rarely fades for DOVES as the boundary-clearing alchemists of yearning, scenic alternative sound return with their critically-acclaimed sixth studio album ‘Constellations for the Lonely’, 25 years after they arrived with their Mercury Award-nominated debut.

Following 2020’s UK Number 1 album ’The Universal Want’, the band quietly continued working, despite stepping away from public view in late 2021 due to frontman Jimi Goodwin’s well-publicized health concerns. Instead of an ending, it became a transition, as they embraced remote recording while maintaining their signature collaborative approach. Inspired by dystopian imagery and personal struggles, the new album ‘Constellations for the Lonely’ blends intricate guitar work, cinematic influences, and soul-infused experimentation. Tracks like ‘Cold Dreaming’ and ‘Last Years Man’ explore resilience, forgiveness, and fatherhood, while ’Stupid Schemes’ adds a playful, soulful twist. Despite challenges, Doves’ cehmisty remains, proving they are still reaching new artist heights.

Main support on the day comes from the legendary UK folk-rock outfit TURIN BRAKES who return to Bexhill to perform a full electric set.
