Good things come to those who wait.

Project Gemini is the result of a 30-year musical journey that’s seen Paul Osborne dig deep, study his record collection and re-emerge to fine-tune his craft. With his debut album ‘The Children Of Scorpio’ released on Mr Bongo records in May 2022,

Project Gemini delivered a sound that owes as much to the contemporary breaks scene as it does to European library music, acid folk, psych-funk and vintage soundtracks from the late ’60s and early 70s, garnering acclaim from the likes of Clash, Shindig! Magazine, AllMusic and BBC 6 Music’s Gideon Coe and Chris Hawkins to name but a few.

The album plays like some far-out, moody fuzz driven collection from a parallel universe, with the title track welding the sound of Schifrin, the funky grandness of The Electric Prunes/David Axelrod opus Release Of An Oath and a heavy dash of Giallo inspired spookiness. There’s the Italian Library meets ’60s beat group freak out of ‘Scorpio’s Waltz’, the Funkadelic inspired psychedelia of ‘The Ritual ’70’, the cosmic breakbeats of ‘The Turning’, the Byrdsian folk-rock of ‘Scorpio’s Garden’, the Morricone-like ‘Road Into The Hills’ and the dreamy, layered melodies of ‘June’, inspired by the great movie love themes and
proving that Paul has the song-writing chops to back up the beat driven atmospherics.

Assisting in the recording of ‘The Children of Scorpio’ were several close friends that helped Paul re-kindle his musical fire, including well renowned guitarist and Little Barrie frontman Barrie Cadogan (who contributes killer six string to four tracks), Delights label head Markey Funk (who adds spooked out keyboards to ‘Path Through The Forest’), Kid Victrola, chief songwriter and guitarist with French psych girl group Gloria who added wild 12-string to ‘Scorpio’s Garden’, Haifa based multi-instrumentalist and producer Shuzin who brings serious heat behind the drum kit, and Paul Isherwood, co-founder of Nottingham’s much loved musical adventurers The Soundcarriers, who mixed the album on his wealth of vintage gear.

Now Paul and his bandmates hit the road to play this cinematic musical journey live, featuring Jack Sharp (Large Plants/Wolf People) on guitar, Tony Coote (Little Barrie/PP Arnold/Greg Foat/Steve Craddock) on drums and Bert Page (The Cromagnon Band) on keyboards. A live show truly not to be missed, for lovers of heavy psychedelia, guitar-heavy funk, acid-folk, and dusty breaks.
