It’s that time of year again! Dust off your glad rags and adorn your masks, Hastings Fat Tuesday Music Festival, the UKs largest music and Mardi Gras Celebration, has announced the lineup for the 2023 Grand Mardi Gras Ball!

Opening the night are all time HFT favourites Mr Wilson’s Second Liners, who return to kick off the weekend’s festivities. A rabble of mischievous northerners, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners form a traditional New Orleans Second Line. However, this is no sombre occasion: Mr Wilson’s expend their collective musical talent paying homage to the diehard days of the Hacienda and 90s club culture. These revolutionary genre bashers knock the First Line sideways, opting for upbeat dance tracks over traditional slow hymns in an anarchic extravaganza, bursting with colour and sound.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. Or so the saying goes, but there is nothing mysterious about the rise of the fabulously original entertainment phenomenon that is – Oh My God! It’s The Church. In a world which increasingly feels like it’s falling apart and rife with division, Oh My God! It’s The Church are the medicine your soul has been craving. Fronted by insane Pastor The Right Reverend Michael Alabama Jackson, he and his wild collective combine to create a fresh live act which has taken the UK by storm, and is fast becoming the hottest ticket in town.

Prepare for the incomprehensible and get ready to fall in love. Welcome to a new musical religion for the 21st Century, one which brings the masses together, and baptises them in Absinthe.

Then dance the night away with Mixfits (featuring Lemur Beats), a local female DJ collective: Kim Cosmik, Em & Tain Joliffe, Jenny Leaman and Lesley Model, all bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to form Hastings’ foremost female DJ collective. Though they all have their own styles and specialisms, they share a healthy disrespect for genres, boundaries and binaries! They’re queering the norm, rocking the room and bringing the party, wherever they go. Expect the eclectic, from disco to house to techno to pop to Italo to Afro-funk- all expertly selected by the gang, cause the mix always fits…
