The Jenny debut for Joli Blon: we’re in for a night of Stomping dance tunes from Lousiana brought to you by a core trio of women and sung in Cajun French
Bio bits:
Joli Blon, who take their name from a much loved Cajun waltz, are an all-women Cajun band who play traditional dance music from the swamps of Louisiana. Their stomping two-steps, mournful waltzes, Cajun French songs and three-part harmonies – with a bit of Blues in the mix – have proved a popular choice with party people and roots music lovers. The authentic up-tempo music has brought audiences on to the dance floor at gigs, events and political fundraisers from Louisiana to Limehouse, with recent appearances at the Green Gathering, Boomtown, Red Rooster and Bath Fringe festivals and a brief foray into the rock world supporting the Quireboys at the O2 Islington. This year will include return visits to much-loved events, together with new invitations including the Frome Festival, High Tide Festival and Shrewsbury Folk Festival.
