Mad Professor – A disciple of Lee “Scratch” Perry, Mad Professor was one of the leading producers in dub reggae’s second generation. His Dub Me Crazy albums helped dub make the transition into the digital age, when electronic productions started to take over mainstream reggae in the ’80s. His space-age tracks not only made use of new digital technology, but also often expanded dub’s sonic blueprint, adding more elements and layers of sound than his forebears typically did. In the mid-’90s, he returned to the basics, debuting a more retro-sounding style on the Black Liberation Dub series. Additionally, he ran his own studio and label, Ariwa, which was home to a stable of vocalists (with an emphasis on lovers rock and conscious roots reggae) and some of the finest British reggae productions of the era. As his reputation grew, he became a remixer of choice for adventurous rock and techno acts, most notably revamping Massive Attack’s entire second album under the new title No Protection. Professor bring the finest singers to accompany his set in the guise of Sister Aisha & Sister Audrey.
Dub Pistols Sound System – The Dub Pistols- Soundsystem set delivered to your ears and feet from the legend himself, frontman of The Dub Pistols, Barry Ashworth! a key influence in the dance scene since way back when promoting events back in the early 90s both at home and in Ibiza.
By the mid-90s Barry was DJing and had started the act that he remains the lynchpin of to this day – the infamous Dub Pistols. The name captures the essence of Barry and the band’s music – punk ethics with a dub mentality.
The Beatles Dub Club – A special DJ set showcasing The Fab Four as you’ve never heard before! DJ Chris Arnold takes you on a magical mystery tour of his collection of covers, remixes, and tracks that sampled arguably the greatest band that ever existed – The Beatles. Expect to hear plenty of Reggae, Ska, Latin, Hip-Hop, Funk, and even Drum ‘N’ Bass takes on the wonderful music created by John, Paul, George & Ringo.
The Beatles Dub Club drew in huge crowds during the 2022 summer season, with thousands of festival goers showing up at Glastonbury, Boomtown Fair, Green Man, Bluedot, and Shambala amongst others.
Ras Kayleb (Ex Channel One) – Roots Yard Radio, Roots Wednesday selector and show host for five years now and vocalist with Channel One Sound System for over 20 years, performing live on stage at some of the world’s biggest music events. Freedom fighter outta South London.
Samsara Collective – one of the South’s most exciting reggae acts create an open minded and fresh take on the roots tradition. Their music pays tribute to the original innovators of the genre while refusing to be bound by any stylistic conventions. The result has been described as “a startlingly new angle on the Jamaican sound.”
Mighty Sounds – Based in Hastings, East Sussex, Mighty Sounds play ruff and tuff foundation and original reggae dance hall riddims. Born out of a love for authentic reggae music, this group of seasoned musicians have grown into an established act booked to play reggae festivals including One Love, South Coast Reggae Festival, Hastings Fat Tuesday, Long Man and Bournemouth Reggae weekender. They have appeared with Ziggy Marley, Dawn Penn and Aswad.
