Hastings Fat Tuesday will take revelers who attend the annual Mardis Gras Ball on a journey of true glamour as everyone dresses up and joins in the fun.

The festival encourages people to wear their most outrageous outfits: feathers, beads, boas, masks, the lot and there will be a competition for the best-dressed person (hosted by Hastings Gin), details to be found on the Fat Tuesday app which can be downloaded from your nearest app store.

On arrival guests will be welcomed by stilt walkers as a superb all-female Mariachi band, Las Adelitas (all the way from Mexico) will be getting the party started by performing their exquisite yet authentic music.

This full-on night of festivities will then continue with two live bands: Chantelle Duncan and The Brass Funkeys whilst DJ Muva Funker keeps the energy high to the early hours.

The Brass Funkeys draw from the traditions of New Orleans with skilled musicianship, rolling from spirited second line energy to soulful jazz funeral marches and pumping brass driven funk. Reggae, DnB, gypsy, swing and Latin influences are exposed in an eclectic live show revealing a band bursting at the seams with ideas and infectious energy.

Chantelle Duncan is a session singer and artist in her own right. Chantelle has teamed up with husband Greg Heath and her favourite musicians to deliver her own brand of jazz, funk, soul and pop to really get the party going.  She has also put together a band of incredibly talented musicians to provide backing who, between them, have played with many of the greats – from Nile Rodgers to Led zeppelin!

The full Hastings Fat Tuesday 2019 programme will be announced soon. For all the latest news and updates visit hastingsfattuesday.co.uk.
