Every week somebody puts a gig on in this town and then has to work out how to tell anyone about it. If you have design software and know how to use it, fine. If you have a phone, a photo of the band and forty minutes before the doors open, less fine — so you end up posting the same wrong-shaped picture to three platforms and hoping.
This makes the right shapes. Answer four questions, add a photo if you have one, and take away five graphics: a landscape one for Facebook and the web, a cover sized for a Facebook event, a square for the Instagram feed, a tall one for Stories and Reels, and an A4 you can print and put in a window. It is free, there is nothing to sign up for, and you can use what it makes anywhere you like.
Already listed the gig with us? Find it in the box below and the answers fill themselves in — venue, date, price, the lot.
Answer four questions, add a photo or two, and take away five graphics sized for the places you are going to post them — including a Facebook event cover and an A4 you can print. It is free, there is nothing to sign up for, and the pictures are made here in your browser: nothing you add is uploaded to us. Find it and we will fill the answers in for you. Start from scratch — it takes about a minute.
While you are here: a gig listed on Hastings Flyer is free too, and it puts the date in front of people looking for something to do. The link goes in the caption, not on the picture — nobody can click a poster. Facebook and X posts, your own website, an email header. The cover on a Facebook event. Facebook crops the sides on a phone, so this one centres everything. The Instagram and Facebook feed. Stories, Reels and TikTok. The words sit clear of the buttons those apps put over the top and bottom. For printing — A4 at 200dpi, which is sharp on any office printer and small enough to email.
Everything means all five pictures and the words, in one zip, built here on your device. Built from your own answers, so check them before you post — we have not invented anything. Use these anywhere you like. The graphics carry a small hastingsflyer.com credit — that is what pays for the tool. Only add photographs you have the right to use. A photographer who took the band shot still owns it, and the credit on the poster is ours, not theirs.Make the posters for your gig

A few things worth knowing
Nothing you add is uploaded to us. The graphics are drawn in your own browser, on your own device. Photographs you drop in never reach our server, which is better for you and considerably less trouble for us.
Only use photos you have the right to use. A photographer who took the band shot still owns it, whatever the band did with it afterwards. Ask, and credit them.
The graphics carry a small hastingsflyer.com credit. That is the exchange — the tool costs nothing to use, and every poster it makes says where it came from.
While you are here
Listing a gig on Hastings Flyer is free too, and it does a job a poster cannot: it puts the date in front of people who are looking for something to do on a Tuesday and have not heard of your band yet. Add your gig, or send it to us and we will put it up.
If the tool does something daft, tell us. It is new, and the only way it gets better is somebody using it on a real gig and saying what went wrong.
