The first tour kicks off in May with Matana Roberts & Kelly Jayne Jones - a very special new collaboration bringing together US mixed-media composer and saxophonist Matana Roberts and UK improviser and flautist Kelly Jayne Jones.
Caleb Madden - lead project manager based at the De La Warr Pavilion recently spoke about the project and about his role within OUTLANDS and the general state of the experimental scene in the UK…
Pop-Up Opera returns to St Mary in the Castle with their new production A Mozart Double Bill: Der Schauspieldirektor & Bastien und Bastienne. The piece will be directed by New British Music Theatre Award nominee, Anna Pool, critically acclaimed for her bold and fierily original directing style. Sit back and enjoy two delicious one-act comedies in which a pair of actresses battle it out to be the prima donna, and a pair of lovers tease and test their feelings for each other. The Feeling will perform their celebrated million-selling album ‘Twelve Stops And Home’ in full at the De La Warr Pavilion on 18 October.
Five of the album’s big-hearted and velcro-catchy songs became bona fide hit singles (Sewn, Fill My Little World, Never Be Lonely, Rose and Love It When You Call), helping the band to become the most-played act on British radio in 2006, and earning them the Ivor Novello Award for Songwriters of the Year.
Paul Merton, Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch, Suki Webster, Mike McShane and accompanist Kirsty Newton are back on the road in 2019 to visit some of their favourite parts of the UK with another evening of mind-blowing improvisation.
The collective improvisational experience embodied in the Chums is enough to stun an elephant. They flex their improvisational muscles to delight and entertain audiences in this country and abroad.
