A documentary feature about legendary psychedelic punk band, Butthole Surfers.
Through exhaustive interviews, archival footage, surreal animation, puppetry reenactments, and more, this film unfolds in the anarchic spirit of this legendary band.
Irreverent and funny, but also sincere and heartfelt, it explores the band’s indelible influence on a generation of musicians and fans as these post-punk rock legends look back on their strange and extraordinary lives.
This is not a hagiography. It presents the hole truth and nothing butt, warts and all: sex, drugs, rock and roll, the beautiful, the ugly, and the weird.
First Tuesdays in association with Paul Kinloch (Aquarius) and Intro by Ben Thompson.
First Tuesdays is when we screen a music documentary in collaboration with a local business, musician or artist, keeping the bar open and the drinks flowing.
