Sean McGowan is out on his own headline tour, and returned to Hastings after last playing at the Fat Tuesday festival a year ago.
With a full band his sound has fleshed out and matured since his early songer-songwriter days, and tonight at Blackmarket VIP the excellent sound system allowed the songs to really shine through.
Support was from Jamie Smart. Well known to anyone who follows the local music scene, Jamie has had a few months off for ‘personal reasons’ but has returned to the stage as pitch-perfect as ever…as proven when he rounded off his set by leaving the stage and playing entirely unplugged in the centre of the room with an emotional verion of ‘Lucifer‘.
