Screening as part of our Neurodiversity Film Festival 2025.
Tim Burton is a hugely successful film director, although not officially diagnosed he does speak publicly about his personal connection with Autism, and this has led him to talk about how neurodivergent people often see the world and experience emotions differently. His films often feature neurodivergent coded characters, and his distinctive style makes him a great example of a film creative whose unique voice has made him an international success story and given neurodivergent people a way to feel seen!
This is a chance to come and enjoy Tim Burton’s magical and imaginative twist on one of the most beloved stories of all time, plus a chance to view the ND Art Show and meet the makers. Featuring over 20 young ND creatives from across East Sussex.
This screening is curated by ‘Amazing Futures’ a group of 14 – 25-year-olds based in East Sussex, who have also contributed their original art to prompt discussion about the under representation and often marginalised voices of neurodivergent and autistic people.
The event also includes an Oska Bright short film before the feature: The Holiday Maker by Harry Mead (7 mins).
