SEALIONWOMAN + JURY SERVICE + NATURA MORTA

Sealionwoman, is vocalist Kitty Whitelaw and double bass player Tye McGivern. Together they craft a unique and defiantly uncategorisable sound. Whitelaw’s rich and beguiling vocal delivery and McGivern’s atmospheric, inventive approach to his instrument creates melancholy soundscapes, torch-song transgressions and rapturous drama.

In late 2018 Sealionwoman released their first album “Siren” under Antigen Records. This debut album explored the haunting myth of the selkie. Their latest work, “Nothing Will Grow In The Soil,” shifts to a heavier sound and focuses on another ancient and mystical subject, the ancient Yew tree. This upcoming album, set to be released in September 2024 with State 51, promises to delve into the rich ancient lore surrounding the Yew tree, continuing Sealionwoman’s tradition of blending folklore with deeply atmospheric music.

Jury Service is an improv project formed in February 2023 by Simon Charterton (Simon&thePope, Near Jazz Experience) and Keith Rodway (Necessary Animals).
Jury Service meet once a month in an empty cinema in St Leonards-on-Sea and improvise without rehearsal or premeditation -what happens, happens.

NATURA MORTA

Natura Morta is the solo project of Colombian songwriter, performer and illustrator María Mallol Moya(LAME, Gianni Giublena Rosacroce, Space Aliens from Outerspace, Rhabdomatic Orchestra, Talky Nerds, Marta Rivera).

Her first debut on Hyle Tapes with “No wine, no life, no bread” on 2017 was a step out into the world of a very intimate and oneiric landscape of sound; infinite reverbs, gloomy voices that overlap in a phantomy harmony, flamenco like organs and acoustic guitars, Amazonas forest field recordings collected on her several trips into the vast greens of Colombia, influences that go from groups such as Księżyc and Coctou Twins, never forgetting the roots of flamenco and Colombian darkest cumbia, and the fierce flag of voice as the most magical instrument of human evolution; A combination that makes an unusual, jet comfy and warm field to get lost into Sound.
