“Fearless” – A Poetry & Music Pop-Up Event

The Poetry Brothel Hastings is delighted to be back with a night of fiery, tender, illuminating verse and music – with the opportunity to purchase 1-2-1 private readings that give the Poetry Brothel its name.

This rendition, Fearless takes place just a few days before Women’s Day and is inspired by poet Audre Lorde. Lorde spoke of the power of the uses of the erotic for political action, the necessity of poetry, claiming, “….we have been socialised to respect fear more than our own needs for language and definition, and while we wait in silence for that final luxury of fearlessness, the weight of that silence will choke us.”

Join us for a intimate session in the small and perfectly formed venue that is the Hair & Hound. Salon and Coffee bar by day, Cocktail bar by night..
