With a heavy dose of energy and passion, plus hypnotic riffs and captivating lyrics, Hastings-based Bad Pedestrian were formed in late 2022, wanting to mix their inspirations of shoegaze, punk, post-punk and alt-rock altogether to create a sound with a plethora of roots.
Their notable inspirations derive from bands such as Wolf Alice, Gender Roles, Paramore, Arctic Monkeys, Linkin Park, Muse, Idles, DIIV and Joy Division.
With lyrics written by the whole band, covering subjects ranging from different stories and backgrounds, it means that listeners can unite behind songs that come from multiple perspectives.
In their first  year they’ve performed for A Curious Town festival with Audiotrope, supported local artists such as Woon and performed with the organisation Loud Women.
Kira – Lead Vocals
Jack – Lead/Rhythm Guitar
Nathan – Lead/Rhythm Guitar
Caitlin – Bass
Toby – Drums
Nathan plays an SG style guitar with inspirations like MUSE, Breaking Benjamin and Deftones.
Jack is on a Fender a Jazzmaster and is mainly inspired by the grunge alt rock scene, bands like DIIV, Slowdive, Sonic Youth, Joy Divison
Jack said:
“Our lyrics are based on a cross section of personal and societal issues and coping mechanisms as a sort of therapy for all of us (and the members of the band)
We write all of our songs together as a collaboration project. We’ve each got at least one song in our sets written by one member of the band, and then there’s a few collab songs, which are more personal.”
