Fritz Lang’s towering, art-deco sci-fi classic still feels fiercely modern, and glows on the big screen. Live piano soundtrack by Mike Hatchard.
In a futuristic city sharply divided between the working class and the city planners, the son of the city’s mastermind falls in love with a working-class prophet who predicts the coming of a saviour to mediate their differences.
We are thrilled to screen this silent sci-fi classic as part of Hastings Book Festival Robot weekender, with live piano from Mike Hatchard, composer and virtuoso pianist.
