McNiff’s Jambalaya ft. Rob Corcoran & The Necessary Evils
April 28 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm
For Jason McNiff’s 3rd Jambalaya it’s an absolute pleasure to welcome back the superb Rob Corcoran & The Necessary Evils
Dublin troubadour Rob Corcoran is a much respected figure on the London roots scene, with folk legend Christy Moore including his version of Corcoran’s brilliant ‘Ringing That Bell’ as a key song in his current touring set. Rob’s lyrically compelling, beautifully observed songs are drenched in Celtic soul, drawing from the same deep wells that serve Van Morrison and Mike Scott so well. Present too is a strong thread of influence from the heart-on-sleeve poetry of John Prine, Hank Williams and Leaonard Cohen.
“This man Rob can surely sing. He says something that needs to be said” CHRISTY MOORE
“Songs that weave their spell in intricate and intimate ways. I implore you to check him out because this guy is rather special” AMERICANA UK
Ed Hopwood is a One-Man Band. He brings together multi-instrumental skills to forge a sound that’s grounded in roots music with a style all of his own; taking elements of Blues, Zydeco, Old-Time, Bluegrass and weaving them into a highly original live show sometimes playing five instruments at once.
