This year’s Santa’s Arrival Parade and the Christmas lights switch-on in Hastings is from 4pm – 8pm on Thursday 23 November.

Live entertainment kicks off from 4pm, including a circus skills workshop and an incredible fire hula hoop display in Wellington Place.

Section 5 Drummers start their show at 4:30pm at the Peer Collection, on the corner of Albert Road and Pelham Road.

If you’ve never seen them (where have you been?) they star in this great music video from Funke and the Two Tone Baby

Thanks to Hastings BID (Love Hastings) and Priory Meadow Shopping Centre all the entertainment is free, helping to make the build-up to Christmas as magical as possible for local families.

A beautifully illuminated procession will start from South Terrace at 5.30pm, featuring 1066 Pipes and Drums, Santa in his reindeer-led sleigh and local community groups. The procession will lead Santa into Priory Meadow’s Queens Square at 6pm for more live entertainment, the Christmas lights switch-on and a spectacular fireworks finale from Renegade Pyrotechnics at 7pm.

Families can also meet the reindeer on Robertson Street after the procession, between 7pm and 8pm.

Santa will be taking visitors in Priory Meadow from Friday 24 November.

Stacey Bell, Centre Manager,  said “We’re excited to launch our new grotto this year, it’s the first of it’s kind and exclusive to Priory Meadow. The grotto will open on Friday 24th November at 12pm. Grotto entry is £4 and includes a wrapped gift. We will be sharing all of our opening hours very soon on our website and across our social media pages so be sure to check these before planning your visit.”
