But when his flight from New York is cancelled due to bad weather, all other attempts to get home fail thanks to crazy cab drivers, trains that break down, and cars that catch on fire. Somebody watches from an empty seat in the stalls, witnessed by many people on separate occasions this was such an extraordinary experience it even caused a performer one night while in the middle of a show to completely stop half way through a song. Weird sounds have been heard in the crypt area which still holds three coffins containing a woman, a man and a child to this day. The other bodies have been removed but the sound of knocks still come from the areas the other coffins were stored. Experience the atmosphere in Muriel Matters' bedroom where she died in 1969. Muriel Matters was a big part of the Suffragette movement. Being followed and doors locking themselves are other reported occurences.

The cost for the night is £45 per head, arrive at 8.00pm for an 8.30pm start. The night will finish at 1.30am, by which time you will have had the chance to experience what it is like to be a paranormal investigator, and had the opportunity to try a mixture of traditional techniques as well as modern technology to try to decide for yourselves – who haunts St Mary in the castle?

You can secure your place with a £25 deposit, we require the balance of the deposit by 1st November 2017, we will refund deposits up until the 1st of October 2017. You can either pay the balance of a deposit above or we will invoice you closer to the time.

The Brass Monkey
18 Havelock Road

We're very excited to announce that our next Friday Night Takeover is by the one and only Sam Calver who will be performing live then taking to the decks to DJ until late.

Hailing from Hastings and poised to make his mark on the music scene, up-and-coming UK singer-songwriter Sam Calver has steadily been building a strong following in his hometown where he has performed to almost 20,000 people over the last year and now, following a recent collaboration with The Wildcatz, he released his debut single Midnight which premiered on 1883.

Effortlessly mixing his infectious and incredibly soulful vocal prowess with poignant lyricism and mesmerising melodies, Midnight has also been brought to life with a must-see visual that was shot in Sam’s hometown and features the venue where he played his first ever gig and the house he was living in when he wrote the single and more upcoming music.

With the release of his new single and the promise of more new music in the coming weeks, Sam Calver is ready to unleash his dynamic, one of a kind sound to the world and with music tastemakers already taking note, he is definitely one to watch!

• Audition: Stables Theatre, Hastings, 26 November 2017, 6pm

Scripts available from box office (£10 refundable deposit) 01424 423221
.
Diary of a Nobody ranks among the finest of English comic novels, and was described by no less than Evelyn Waugh as “the funniest book in the world.”

It records the daily lives of lower-middle-class Victorian bank clerk Charles Pooter, his wife Carrie, his son Lupin, and numerous friends and acquaintances. Set in a London suburb, it describes in painfully hilarious detail the simplicities and humiliations, trials and tribulations of 15 months in the life of the mundane, upright Pooter.

In this well-received stage adaptation by Hugh Osborne, the diaries are presented by Pooter as a series of “dramatic representations.” He is joined by a cast of three who between them play all the characters described in the diaries – very much in the fast-paced, quick-change style of other literary stage adaptions such as The 39 Steps, Three Men in a Boat, The Hound of the Baskervilles and Jeeves and Wooster.

Casting

I am looking for four very strong actors to bring this fabulous play to its full potential. While Pooter is the central character, this is essentially a show with four leads. As well as outstanding talent, versatility, timing and stage presence, all cast members will need to be good team players and willing to contribute ideas and suggestions. This show will be physically and mentally demanding yet hugely rewarding and lots of fun.

It’s essential that the actors resist the temptation to “send up” the play. Pooter and all the characters around him should be played as truthfully as possible in order to achieve maximum comic potential.

While Pooter is self-evidently a man of a certain age, I am more open minded about the gender and ages of Darwitts, Birks-Spooner and Hillbutter, and would welcome anyone who thinks they have the talent to fit the bill.

Characters
• Charles Pooter: Male, playing age approx. 45-55.
Quite simply one of English literature’s greatest comic characters and perhaps the blueprint for the likes of Captain Mainwaring, Basil Fawlty, Victor Meldrew and David Brent. Gauche, straight-laced, formal, bumptious and snobbish - Pooter is completely unaware of his own absurdity and the way he is perceived by others, yet he is also sympathetic and likeable. This character spawned the adjective “Pooterish” - self-important and mundane or narrow-minded. A terrific opportunity for the right actor.

• Mr Darwitts. Plays: Carrie (Pooter’s wife); Cummings (Pooter’s friend); Farmerson (the ironmonger); Carrie’s mother; Lillie Girl and others.

• Mr Birks-Spooner. Plays: Sarah (the Pooters’ maid) for half the play; Gowing (Pooter’s friend); the Waiter, Second Helpful Man, Lupin (The Pooters’ son); Daisy Mutlar (Lupin’s sweetheart) and others.

• Mr Hilbutter. Plays: Horwin; Pitt, Trillip; Mrs James of Sutton; the Old Friend; First Helpful Man; Frank Mutlar; Sarah (for half the play); Murray Posh and others.
______________________________________________________

Audition pieces – this is a guide. Please let me know on the day if there are any other pieces you want to perform:

• P 10-15 - Pooter, Gowing/Sarah, Cummings/Farmerson/Carrie, Horwin
• P 29-31 - Sarah (Birks-Spooner), Carrie, Pooter, Mrs James
• P 41-42 - Pooter, Hilbutter/Pitt, Cummings
• P 49 (from Lupin’s entrance) -52 - Pooter, Carrie, Lupin, Hillbutter (as Sarah)
• P 86-88 - Carrie, Mrs James, Pooter, Gowing
• P 76-77 - Pooter, Cummings, Lupin
• P 115 - Pooter speech
• P 43 (from Hilbutter entrance)-46 – Pooter, Hilbutter, Gowing, Carrie/Cummings “Consequences” game.
______________________________________________________

This is an open audition and I look forward to seeing as many talented performers as possible.

I anticipate starting rehearsals in earnest in February – probably three per week - with perhaps a couple of readings and familiarisations in January.

Best wishes and good luck.

Resident Brighton / Music's Not Dead / Pebble Records / Wow And Flutter

One of the most profound indie bands in the past decade, the majestic sounds of Grammy nominated and Billboard topping Fleet Foxes' return is something to behold. This is a rare appearance after their last sold-out performance at the Brighton Dome.Their new album Crack-Up delves into epic powered and long transcendental songs, including their trademark sparkling harmonies, and has earned the same critical praises as its predecessors, cementing their place in an important part of musical history.

New album 'Crack-Up' is out now
(nons.ch/fleetfoxes_crack-up)

Fleet Foxes’ self-titled debut (out on indie label Bella Union) made a profound impact on the international musical landscape, earning them Uncut’s first ever Music Award Prize, and topping numerous ‘Best of” lists’, including Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Albums of the 2000s and Pitchfork’s 50 Best Albums of 2008. Fleet Foxes is certified Gold in North America and Platinum in both the UK and Australia. The follow-up album Helplessness Blues was met with the same critical praise as its predecessor (Mojo five stars, Rolling Stone four stars, Pitchfork Best New Music); that album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200, went Gold in the UK, and earned the band a GRAMMY nomination. Past member Josh Tillman aka Father John Misty now a successful musicianship in his own right, was also part of the band for a long time.

Crack-Up (released on Nonesuch Records) comes six years after the 2011 release of Helplessness Blues and nearly a decade since the band’s 2008 self-titled debut. All eleven of the songs on Crack-Up were written by Robin Pecknold. The album was co-produced by Pecknold and Skyler Skjelset, his longtime bandmate, collaborator, and childhood friend.

Crack-Up is a rich, ideas-driven record which pulls off a pretty unlikely feat: infusing Fleet Foxes’ music with the same sense of transcendence and beauty that they managed the first time, now delivered with an added sense of expansive musical ambition. It confirms that rarest of achievements: a group somehow hanging on to the essence of who they are, while pushing their art into thrillingly unforeseen places.

"Likely to be the most remarkable album you will hear this year… the return of one of the most original bands of this century." – The Times

"These 11 tracks are immersive, shifting creations, retaining the heavenly signature harmonies of FF’s previous work, while further expanding the band’s sound." - The Observer

Support comes from:

For New York City's singer-songwriter Nick Hakim, it all started in a house in Jamaica Plains, MA with collaborators Naima and Solo Woods. There, he put the finishing touches on his breakthrough EPs, Where Will We Go, Pt. I & II, which would later release through his Earseed Records and earn critical praise from NPR and The New York Times. But it was where the sessions for the two-part project ended and the ideas began to materialize for what would become his full-length debut, Green Twins (released via ATO Records), an experimental step forward with emotional heft gleaned from his experiences in the years since.

Royal Vauxhall Tavern presents Goosed

St Mary in the Castle
7 Pelham Crescent
Hastings,  TN34 3AF Map

We are over the moon to be welcoming the Legendary Royal Vauxhall Tavern Panto back to St Mary in the Castle this Christmas, the cult christmas adult panto.

Once again the RVT has chosen a traditional panto, fed it gin til took its clothes off and then slept with one of your relatives, and this year’s offering is Goosed, a tale of clubs, greed and golden ‘eggs’.

Mother is the proud owner of the Goose Tavern - an iconic ramshackle bar in far off Hastings-land. Business is slow and Mother and her dim, yet achingly handsome bar manager Jack, are running out of ideas to get the punters in.

Can glamorous nightlife sprite, Fairy Lamé turn the tide of fortune for The Goose with the help of the ‘Golden Egg’ and save the Goose Tavern from the evil, scheming Kelly-Anne ConWitch who is determined to get her perfectly manicured claws on the Golden ‘Egg’ for the brand new AmerikeeLand Embassy just in time for President Hump's inaugural visit.

Can Mother save her Goose and reclaim her status as ageing doyenne of the queer club scene? Will Jack get the ‘egg’ back, with the help of seriously hot local cop Finn?

Will Finn and Jack find love once they get off their apps? Will Fairy Lamé find anyone to polish her wand? Is the nightlife of Hastings-land doomed forever? And can I order an Uber?

All these questions and more will be answered in Goosed!- the adult panto that has glitz, glam, gags, goosing and more song and dance numbers than a Mariah Carey appearance at Eurovision.

Money for nothing : Dire straits

White Rock Theatre
White Rock
Hastings,  TN34 1JX Map

Money for Nothing was formed in 2000 as a tribute to one of the world’s premier rock bands - Dire Straits. The abundant energy and the excellence and musicality of their performance makes Money for Nothing a 'must see' for any rock enthusiast or Dire Straits fan.

Fronting the band is the brilliant guitarist and Mark Knopfler sound-alike Aled Williams. Behind him the line-up features top-class and experienced musicians that make this band a worthy tribute to Dire Straits. Aled and the entire band have studied Dire Straits in great depth to re-create their tribute to be as close as possible to the real thing.

Featuring all the hits from their first ever single ‘Sultans of Swing’ to ‘Brothers in Arms‘, ‘Walk of Life’ and their last single released in 1992 ‘The Bug’ - also the legendary ‘Money For Nothing’ (ft Sting) which was the first ever video played on MTV. The band also include versions from ‘On the Night’ and ‘Live @ The BBC‘.

The British Comedy Award nominee and star of Live At The Apollo and 8 Out Of 10 Cats is embarking on a nationwide tour to complain about the state of the world and offer no solutions. Since his last show he has become a husband and father, seen the UK vote to leave the EU and watched the rise of Donald Trump, all of which leaves him asking one question, why does it seem that no one else alive can correctly load a dishwasher?

Come and see what Jon Richardson can do with words when he has more than thirty seconds to work with. Or should that be “with which to work”?

Best known as team captain on 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Jon has been massively in demand for television and radio appearances including; Have I Got News For You (BBC ONE), Live At The Apollo (BBC ONE), Channel 4’s 'Comedy Gala Live At The 02’ and most recently ‘Taskmaster’ (DAVE). He can also be heard hosting ‘The Warm Up’ show on talkSPORT with Matt Forde every Saturday.

Beauty and the Beast Sing-A-Long

White Rock Theatre
White Rock
Hastings,  TN34 1JX Map

Singalonga Productions invite you to “Be our Guest” at Sing-a-Long-a Beauty and the Beast. Join us as we celebrate the brand new adaptation of Disney’s iconic fairy tale with on-screen lyrics so everyone can join in!.

This is your chance to sing your heart out to the Disney songs of your childhood such as “Be our Guest”, “Belle”, “Gaston” and not forgetting the “Beauty and The Beast”. Sing along with Emma Watson, Ewan McGregor and Emma Thompson in this romantic fairy tale and see if you can stop those tears at the end.

Our Singalonga host will start with a pre-show where they will warm up your voices, teach you some hand actions, show you how to use the famous Singalonga props bag during the film and when to Boo the arrogant Gaston and of course judge the fancy dress competition!

For those of you who have been abandoned somewhere on a desert Island and don’t know the story… Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in its castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast’s hideous exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside.

So some along and celebrate this “tale as old as time”, dress as your favourite character and get ready to feel part of a real fairy tale.

Bexhill,  TN40 1DP Map

THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY 10 DECEMBER 2017

The much-loved trio take the DLWP stage this summer performing new music from their upcoming album 'Home Counties' out 2 June.

The new album contains 19 ‘tracks’ inspired by their bitter-sweet relationship with the eponymous shires that have always been part of their lives. It was recorded in the summer and autumn of 2016 and it’s co-produced by Shawn Lee of Wall Of Sound and Young Gun Silver Fox fame.

Sarah Cracknell says: “We had so much fun writing for this album, drawing influence from our teenage years growing up in the home counties. Bob, Pete and I led almost parallel lives while I was in Windsor and they were in Surrey, developing our passion for music and London. Shawn Lee was a joy to work with, he’s a wonderful multi-instrumentalist who seemed to have some kind of telepathy with us and translated our ideas perfectly. The record is quite varied in styles and brings together a little something from all our past albums whilst sounding completely new.”

Tom’s Midnight Garden
Adapted for the stage by David Wood from the book by Philippa Pearce
As the old grandfather clock chimes thirteen, a lonely boy creeps down the Victorian staircase. He walks out of the 1950s and into another world, another time and a garden that shouldn’t exist. Are the people there ghosts – or is the boy the ghost?
This beautiful and poignant story introduces the audience to Hatty, an orphan from the 1800s and Tom, a boy from the 1950s. Moving between time periods, Tom meets characters from Hatty’s world and shares in her sorrow, joy and love of life. Adapted from the award winning novel, this haunting story explores friendship, love and loss, and enduring human spirit.
Tom’s Midnight Garden is a magical, enchanting story which will delight audiences young and old.

The Palace NYE Hootenanny!

The Palace
37 White Rock, America Ground
Hastings,  TN34 1JL Map

We're throwing the ultimate Palace party this New Years Eve and you're invited! Music all night over both rooms, DJ and drink specials TBA. Tickets are available now so get 'em while they're hot...

Here’s our all-star line up for this year’s Palace Hootenanny!

Business In the Front…

DR SAVAGE

The energy of the irrepressible Doc Savage is legendary in these parts. Devotees of Savage Sundays (a monthly rockin’ ‘n’ rollin’ afternoon of riotous piano hi-jinks at the Albion) will be familiar with his high-energy set. You might also recognise him as the figurehead for Fat Tuesday Fest’s Traditional New Orleans 2nd Line Band.

KING SIZE SLIM

Described by Barry Marshall-Everett of House of Mercy Radio. “A talent out of the young and bold blues bag who can show those old Delta boys a thing or two” KSS is another Hastings Heavyweight. Having recently recorded a live album right here at the Palace it seems fitting that he should play us into 2018.

MIKE WILLIS

Nashville export and seasoned songwriter Mike Willis combines the great American songwriting traditions of Woodie Guthrie, Hank Williams, Tom Petty & Jackson Browne with the swagger of James Brown and the smoothness of Marvin Gaye. He’ll make you laugh, he’ll make you cry, and he’ll probably get you on the dancefloor too.

Party in the back…

NOVA TWINS

In the back room we’ve got riotous grime-punk duo Nova Twins who you may have caught at this year's Fat Tuesday. Since we saw them last they've met a storm of critical acclaim... and we've scored them for our NYE bill hot off their major support slot for supergroup Prophets Of Rage at The Zenith in Paris. Unmissable.

KID KAPICHI

Riotous riff-fueled alt-rock from four of Hastings most loveable reprobates... the band have recently sold out a show on Hastings Pier and have done some high-profile support slots with Rat Boy, Slaves and Fat White Family.

Keep an eye on our page for updates!

DAMO SUZUKI
tickets = bit.ly/2xkb83b

A genuinely unique talent, Damo Suzuki found fame after krautrock legends CAN found him busking in the streets of 70s Cologne. Immediately drafting him in to replace Malcolm Mooney, the band, oft-considered one of the single greatest outfits in western musical history went on to record a plethora of seminal LPs, including TAGO MAGO and EGE BAMYASI.

Damo Suzuki's never-ending tour here makes a rare stop-off in Hastings, where he will perform with an assembly of hand-picked local musicians. Suzuki's synthetic language creates an absolutely astonishing performance, his voice remains a beautiful philosopher's stone, the alchemical jigsaw piece of the krautrock puzzle.

Hot of the heels of last year’s Adult Panto - PUSS & DICK the Market Theatre Company return to bring to life the story of Sinbad the Sailor and his epic adventures across the seas to defeat the one-eyed monster - packing it with corny jokes, raunchy plots and blatant sexual innuendo!

With a minimum of set, props and costume the fearless company of 3 will take this traditional story and distort it almost beyond recognition.

Featuring Nick Hooton, Carrie Laurence and Pip Johnson - who, with the help of various traditional pantomime characters (and some not so traditional) will keep you entertained and prolong the all too short seasonal spirit!

Get ready for an evening of slick, fast-moving, farcical fun and bawdy sexual innuendo (did we mention the innuendo?) for adults only.

A ghostly apparition of a female figure hurrying about the building, described as wearing an old fashioned nurse uniform and seems to be carrying someone in her arms. Long skirt, white apron, Cap. She’s seen walking through walls.
Poltergeist activity has been reported in the theatre. Theatre goers have seen an old man wearing a raincoat vanish into thin air. Performers have had experiences in their dressing rooms which gave them the distinct knowledge that they were not alone.
The original East Sussex Hospital was replaced with the White Rock Pavilion which was opened by Edward, Prince of Wales in April 1927. The pavilion underwent a further re-modification in 1937 and again in 1985 when it was renamed the White Rock Theatre.
From its very beginning Hastings Borough Council ran the Theatre. As the years went by and the Theatre continued to run at a loss, the council decided to close the Theatre down. This announcement was met with the fierce opposition from local people and groups rallied round in support of the White Rock. In May 2002 Clear Channel Entertainment, took over management of the venue. On February 1st, 2009, HQ Theatres took over as operator of the White Rock in partnership with Hastings Borough Council.
The cost for the night is £45 per head, 8.00pm for an 8.30pm start. The night will finish at 1.30am, by which time you will have had the chance to experience what it is like to be a paranormal investigator, and had the opportunity to try a mixture of traditional techniques as well as modern technology to try to decide for yourselves – WHO HAUNTS The White Rock Theatre?

You can secure your place with a deposit, we require the balance of the deposit by 1st January 2018, we will refund deposits up until the 1st of December 2017. You can either pay the balance of a deposit above or we will invoice you closer to the time.

Milton Jones is Out There. No, really out there and this time he hasn’t just forgotten his keys. He’s holding up the mirror of truth to society, and he can see right through it, which means its probably just a window. In his brand new show he’ll be putting his foot down and lifting the lid on the pedal bin of lies of the media (which doesn’t include this press release obviously).

He will also be scaling the heights of fashion at the risk of falling into a terrible cravat. Milton will be talking about his life so far - the ups, the downs and why buying his own see-saw was the best decision he ever made. But perhaps he should give all this up and seek the highest office in the land - but how do you get a desk and a swivel chair up a mountain? Oh and now he wants to be Prime Minister too. Can we do worse than the politicians we already have? Yes we can!

Due to huge popular demand, after his first tour-de-force, smash hit, sell out tour, ‘My Life Story’, Suggs is treading the boards again with a brand new show.
If the first show was about how on Earth he got there, Suggs: What a King Cnut is about the surprises that awaited him when he did.
Vertigo on the roof of Buckingham Palace. Nearly blowing the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Watching his underpants fall to earth on Bowie’s driveway.
Things have gone a smidge surreal since the Madness frontman was a twelve year old in shorts on the tough streets of North London.
Constantly expecting that inevitable tap on the shoulder to hear ‘what are you doing here, Sunshine?’ how has he got this far? In this business you can be washed up at any minute. How has he managed to get away with it for so long?
Fame is a tightrope and Suggs has fallen off many times.

But for all the near death experiences he takes great solace in the words of the Greek philosopher, Blondie:

Runner-up on the seventh series of UK’s The X Factor, Rebecca Ferguson comes to DLWP in February 2018.

Having co-written her record-breaking debut album Heaven, and going on to release a further three follow-ups, Rebecca has proven herself to be a recording artist with a passion for her craft that is second to none.

Released in 2011, Heaven, was a critical and commercial success selling 128,000 copies in its first week and peaked at No. 3 in the UK Official Charts, making her the fastest-selling debut solo artist of the past decade (2007-2017). Going on to release her strong debut follow up, Freedom, in 2013, and then her third studio album Lady Sings The Blues (covering a number of jazz classics made famous by Billie Holiday), Rebecca shows off her versatile style with ease. Her fourth album Superwoman released last year, shows Rebecca has come a long way from the shy twenty-something audiences first saw on television 7 years ago.

Continuing to flourish as a confident songwriter and stunning live performer, embarking on countless tours across the UK, Europe and US, this working-class girl from Liverpool has no plans on stopping anytime soon.

I originally intended to call the show, “I’ll Millennial You in a Minute”, but my promoter considered the title, “off-puttingly baffling”. That’s my own chainsaw in the photo by the way.

Is life that bad or have we good reason to complain about it? Are we filled with righteous anger at a world gone wrong or are we all just a bunch of whiny little brats? In short, are we spoiled? Come and watch as Byrne takes this question, turns it upside down and shakes it until the funny falls out. Go on, spoil yourself.

Opera South East are back after their fantastic production last year of ‘The Magic Flute’ with an opera based on Pushkin’s iconic verse novel. The definitive romantic Russian aristocrat caught between convention and boredom and the young Tatyana, who grows from sentimental adolescent into sophisticated woman. Tchaikovsky gives voice to the casualties of love, the victims in the battle between raw emotion and social convention.

This new production from director Fraser Grant sees the action set at the end of the 18th century in rural Russia moving forward to the glittering imperial aristocracy of St. Petersburg at the start of the 19th century.

Somebody watches from an empty seat in the stalls, witnessed by many people on separate occasions. This was such an extraordinary experience it even caused a performer one night while in the middle of a show to completely stop half way through a song. Weird sounds have been heard in the crypt area which still holds three coffins containing a woman a man and a child to this day. The other bodies have been removed but the sound of knocks still come from the areaswhere the other coffins were stored. Experience the atmosphere in Muriel Matter's bedroom where she died in 1969. Muriel Matters was a big part of the Suffragette movement. Being followed and doors locking themselves ‘behind you” is part of the phenoma experienced in this amazing location. We have also witnessed a photograph which seems to contain a face formed from a mysterious mist taken at the location in 2014.

A previous church opened for worship in 1828, it is now a multipurpose cultural centre.

The cost for the night is £45 per head, 8.00pm for an 8.30pm start. The night will finish at 1.30am, by which time you will have had the chance to experience what it is like to be a paranormal investigator, and had the opportunity to try a mixture of traditional techniques as well as modern technology to try to decide for yourselves – WHO HAUNTS St Mary in the castle?

He’s back! It’s been a busy few years for Jason since his last smash-hit stand up show but fans of his Absolute Radio show will know this nationally acclaimed comedian hasn’t changed a bit. ‘Muddle Class’ promises to feature a wealth of new material about Jason growing up ‘working class’ then finding, over the years, that part of him has become ‘middle class’ - causing much confusion! Delivered with Jason’s amiable charm and captivating wit, this is a show not to be missed.

Jason said: “Somebody said to me on my Facebook fan page, ‘it’s been ages since you’ve toured’. I thought ‘no way, it was last year wasn’t it? Anyway, long story short, they were right, it was years ago! I just got fooled cos I’ve been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on Dave ja Vu 13 times a day! So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it’s changed over the years, how the world has changed and how my parents haven’t changed a bit! It’s going to be a great tour and I can’t wait to see you there.”

Danny Baker will be embarking on a nationwide, high-principled, peppy series of one-night-stand tour calling at dozens of theatres around the country.

Following the extraordinary success of the Cradle To Grave tour Danny was asked to reconsider his initial statement that he would never undertake such a venture again and now on his farewell tour.

These exhibitions will be startling, high kicking, fresh, eruptive and often under three hours long. On this, once again, you have my word. To help me mark the festivities I will joined on some nights by both Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan – two of the nicest dogs I have ever owned.

Now raise the curtain, pour the drinks, play the music - because here we go again…

Opening this concert will be Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, which conjures the sights and sounds of Scottish scenery, from calm still waters to intense and dramatic storms. Elgar’s regal and mournful Elegy for strings sets the scene for the tranquil, quiet opening of Tchaikovsky’s sublime Violin Concerto. With its unrelenting energy and use of Russian peasant dance rhythms, this stunning piece is notably one of the most difficult violin concertos in the repertoire.

Closing the concert is Beethoven’s stirring Symphony No.7, which combines a wonderful blend of orchestral gravitas and swelling tunes used to great effect in the film The King’s Speech.

Crooners comes to Hastings for its debut at Whoite Rock.

This rip roaring comedy musical has been wowing audiences with its witty and exhilarating show full of satirical energy, hilarious one liners, laugh out loud silliness and superb musical numbers and now comes to White Roack Theatre.

Crooners follows the story of three very British gentlemen who exhume the characteristics of a crooner; suave, self-assured, stylish, as they defend the role of a crooner in our modern world. By the very same nature, it is not always obvious that these characteristics are adopted quite so well by the quintessentially British. Cue a splendiferous injection of British comedy. Tongue firmly in cheek. And an Outrageous injection of Big Band Swing.

Featuring the outstanding and uncompromising live, on stage musicianship of the 9-piece band ‘The Mini Big Band’, these Crooners feature songs from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Matt Monro, Nat King Cole and Bobby Darin. Expect some Lady is a Tramp, Come Fly With Me,L.O.V.E, When You’re Smiling, Fly Me To The Moon, Beyond The Sea, Mac The Knife any many more…
